I was in a popular hang out for freelance/ independent workers the other day, and there were about five Apple Powerbooks on display. Only a matter of time before the Mac ceases to become the badge of difference it once was.
So right on cue along comes ETCHamac who will do horrible things to your lovely Powerbook or iPod to help you stand out from the crowd.
While on the subject- have you noticed how seldom PC laptop users peel off the plethora of stickers that usually sit just below their keypads? Most come with several little stickers for Windows, Intel, the type of speakers etc, and they usually stay there. I'm fascinated by this- my theory is that it's less a case of the user being proud of the label and more a case of them being afraid of computers generally and not wanting to "tamper" with them in any way in case they might break them.
